The Ogre That Never Dies

Long time ago there was a town being plague by an immortal Ogre.
They seek heroes to protect them and to rid the Ogre from their land.
This news came into the attention of two great warriors,
and one of them have decided to take the challenge. But months have passed
and still there were no news from the first warrior. His friend got worried
that the first warrior might have fallen in the hands of the Ogre. For the Ogre
continually plague the villages. So he too decided to hunt this Ogre
and to avenge his fallen friend.

At the top of the mountain near the villages, finally he met with the Ogre.
And to his surprise the Ogre was not that big, and it was not as ferocious
as he expect it to be. Truly with one swing of his sword the Ogre fell and dies.
The warrior exclaim in disgust, “Oh how such a meaningless beast like you
have conquered and defeated my Great Warrior Friend”. And before he
could finished what he was saying he noticed the Ogre was changing
into the likeness of his friend. Too late for the Victorious Warrior to
understand that the Ogre was not at all immortal and for him to learned
the Cursed that who ever killed the Ogre will become an Ogre.

Here in the Philippines this story is true in our politics. We keep on
seeking great leaders in hope to inspire changes and rid of graft and
corruption only to find out in the end that our heroes are slowly changing
in to the villain they have swear to vanquished. Temptations such as ill gotten wealth,
blinded glory, and hunger for power are enough reason, if you can still call it reason,
to turn any good hearted individual into the beast once we never dream of becoming.
